Summer is coming, and the time is ripe for looking through those travel brochures and selecting the perfect summer getaway. Budget might be high on everyone’s minds right now, but that shouldn’t stop you from having your dream summer vacation. And for this summer, Bermuda is the perfect place to be. Do not worry much about money since that is what Bermuda travel packages are for.
Like most travel packages, traveling in groups will be a lot cheaper than going alone. Anyway the sights in this beautiful archipelago will make you cry out in delight and you will just itch to share them talk about them with other people. Friends can come in groups and families can make the most out of these practical options.
There are a lot of places to see in Bermuda. In every travel package, you will be able to see the most famous tourist spots and experience the island at its best.
The first destination will most probably be the lovely pink sand beaches which are always included in the itinerary of vacation tours. This unusual feature is what the islands are famous for around the world. Some resorts have water parks where you’ll get to be up close with dolphins in the water and have a swimming race with them.
The Crystal Cave is also a favorite place of tourists and locals alike. The caves were formed more than 30 million years ago, naturally producing a series of caves that are connected by underground water. The clear, blue, underground lake is surrounded by stalactites and stalagmites made of crystal silt. Special lights have been installed, making the crystal formations beneath the water surface visible as well. It is like walking through a fantasy world when you step into these caves.
The Dockyard, which was once a fortress built by and for the British naval command in the Atlantic Ocean, is now a sprawling historical area which is filled with neat lawns and several establishments make it a tourist hub. There are several small shops and a mall, the Bermuda Maritime Museum and the Snorkel Park. A lot of the old buildings and British command offices are still standing, along with cannons, ramparts and other wartime memorabilia. Though most of the Dockyard is not open for the public it is still one of the exciting places to visit in the island.
The House of Parliament and the Government House are also worth seeing. Since Bermuda is a British overseas territory, they have quite similar architectural and landscape design as the ones in London. The House of Parliament for instance has its own clock tower, similar to the Big Ben.
Historical landmarks like the King’s Castle and numerous other forts are frequently visited by tourists too and at least one will be likely to make it in the package. Built in the 16th century, looking up the stone walls and ramparts will transport you back in the time when soldiers marched the flagged stone courtyards and wars were being planned within its walls.
Of course, there is also the Bermuda Triangle which is a legend in itself. There’s no need to worry about getting obliterated though since people have come and go safe and sound. Bermuda travel packages can provide sufficient fun and excitement without flying you through this fabled part of the Atlantic.
